I'm a seasoned graphic designer/production manager who thrives in the demanding world of print and web. I can successfully juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines and strict budgets with confidence and creativity. An appetite for a fast-paced work environment coupled with excellent communication and diplomacy skills enable me to collaborate with enthusiasm and grace. I'm a real people-person, so developing positive relationships with co-workers, colleagues and vendors comes second nature to me. My passion for food and cooking aligns well with my professional skills in that they both require attention to detail, flexibility in the face of challenges and the ability to blend well with others.

Working remotely for this Mobile, AL tourism and convention marketing firm, I was tasked with the planning, designing and production of marketing and advertising materials, both digital and in print. With a history of success in cross-collaboration with marketing, administrative and sales teams, I provided multiple deliverables in print and electronic media, often beginning with full-scope project planning including budgeting and managing vendors as required.

While full-time and on-site, I served the Bureau in numerous capacities. My main role was planning and producing electronic media campaigns and a wide variety of print projects that promoted the city of Mobile, overseeing web design and development. I produced annually 42-page visitor guides (500,000 printed), marketing and sales plans (100+ pages), dining and lodging guide books (36-page; 55,000 printed), print advertisements as well as banner ads for TripAdvisor, Weather.com, AL.com, etc. Other responsibilities included content management of the consumer web site utilizing CMS and back end tools and reviewing user statistics to hone our efforts. Department of Art - University of South Alabama, Mobile, ALSeptember 2001 - April 2002
I taught intermediate classes on industry-standard software (Illustrator, Photoshop and QuarkXPress). I was also responsible for educating the students on design and layout principles, color theory, typography and the technical aspects of print production.
Department of Publication Services - University of South Alabama, Mobile, ALJune 1990 - October 2001
Primarily, my role was to provide consultation with and project planning for clients of the University print shop, including the President’s office, Office of Admissions, Deans of academic colleges, University athletics, University-funded hospitals, the Nature Conservancy, Mobile United and many more. For the first three years, I was a layout artist and graphic designer lead. Due to my ability to produce a high volume of work without compromising quality and client satisfaction, I became instrumental in all aspects of the print shop and subsequently promoted to supervisor in 1996 when a junior graphic artist and an intern were hired. My collaboration with the front office, pre-press technicians, press and bindery operators was essential for budgeting, time management and quality control of a multitude of projects. One of my favorites was designing and overseeing environmental graphics for the University’s pediatric cancer treatment center, the USS HOPE.

Every chance I get, I love to enrich my knowledge of photography. Food is my favorite thing to photograph because after you take the picture, you get to devour it.
I have had the privilege of working with Mary both as a colleague and a client for more than 10 years. For the first few years, we worked together in the same office. When Mary relocated across the country, her talents were so valuable that we retained her services as a project manager and graphic designer. I have been continuously impressed with her enthusiasm for her field as well as her ability to interpret what is in the mind of her client and transfer that to the designs she produces. She is consistent, reliable and a pleasure to work with.
